Stock exhaust silencer refinishing

Anyone have the best process to get the lower silencers as close to stock looking as possible? Mine have a few scrapes that need to be sanded out which of course makes them look worse!

Scotchbrite pads. Go around the can, not end to end.

You can sand out any minor imperfections first and then use the Scotchbrite pads to get the correct appearance.
