93311 42056 and 93311 92557 gearbox bearings

#1 Post by geosot » Sat Oct 20, 2007 1:46 pm

I have found a ball bearing and a needle roller bearing replacing the above.

Ball bearing has dimensions

25 ID 47 OD

and needle roller bearing has dimensions

20 ID 35 OD

Both have inner rings and they are direct replacement for the OEM parts that are NLA from Yamaha.

The bearings I found are not the same as the OEM. They have the same dimensions but they are of a different type.

If you could find the OEM I can always get a pair or more.

Bearings

Are these the main crank bearings. Not sure if its the same as my old 4lo mains but my local dealer has said the bearings are of a different clearance class as normal bearings to account for the added heat generated by the engine. They are graded as C3 or C4 bearings (cant remember which)
Dont know how true this is but it may be something to think about before using normal bearings in the engine.

They are not the crank bearings. The crank bearings are rated C3. Normlly you can find the crank bearings in your local bearing shop. If you need further info on the crank bearings let me know.

Hi George,
I know this is raking up avery old post but I'm looking for both of these part numbers.

Are they still available?

Thanks,
Paul.

PS - Just to clarify, aren't both of these parts needle bearings?
