alot of the triple guys get made about this bike but i love it. not like they took a pristine early year 72 and chopped it up. just took a h2 motor.

Ive read some pretty damming stuff about Martec and his lack of delivery with the Ford RS guys. I thought I recognised something about him when he first started with the RD/RZ stuff and then I found it was his RS connection. Sadly for many there remains the bad taste of the TSS debacle. It would appear that the guys that build fancy (read 'expensive') bike stuff for our hobby always seem to be problematical somehow. Of course Mark could have changed, but the warnings from the Ford guys seemed clear and its not like many would give TSS Steve their money if he started up something again etc.

Really sorry to hear that mate. Totally gutting. Seems all these pics and positive posts on fb are all about him scamming money in deposits, that seems to be his MO as I understand it that is what he did that to the ford guys.

I think norbo also gave him deposits for a bunch of swingers too. I wonder how that is going to play out. norbo hasnt said anything so far...

I did notice he just ignored the Fb comments where people said not to deal with him and thought that was strange. I mean, youd answer your critics, right? Of course Fbers have no memory of what happened last week (its the platform not the posters but they do seem to act the same) so tend to get excited each time a new pic gets posted of some work thats been done. What i did notice was that the postings hes made were generally on the weekends, perhaps its not his actual job? no wonder he cant deliver product.

The problem for us I guess is that this is a hobby so we give lots of leeway to people who we think/hope are doing something for 'us'. We see something cool and want it and find the cash to own it. We are willing to wait and wait as well. As such we tend to be a perfect target for flakes who dont deliver, either by accident or design. sigh...

Sadly there dont seem to be many posts on the forums where people advise not to deal with him and yet what is needed is a categoric 'Do not deal with MARTEC' post. Of course if he starts to deliver then its all good, but I fear that isnt going to happen. This is like Deja Vu with TSS, sigh... too much 'benefit of the doubt' from us and too little delivered from the supplier. It wont end well I expect.

I guess you could report him to the local police in the UK where he lives? it must be fraud I would think to take money and not supply or even provide a date for delivery. I doubt you will be the first or last to contact them tho, he may well already be 'known'.

Feel for ya mate. I just hate to think of people we know getting ripped off.

I dont do Fb much or often, but now and then when I allow the time sponge that fb is to kill some time I spot things. usually they disappoint me... another reason i dont bother much.

Yep. One of the reasons I dropped it. I just spent too much time on it. Christ, you would burn hours on it and not realize it!!
