Thanks :smt023
Jets....
A bone stock bike with just the pipes....around 185/195 to start with
I have different filters so the recommendation doesn't work for me.

Here is a little bit of noise....
Maybe more tomorrow

First time on the road.
Putting some break in miles on the motor before I start doing any tuning.
Runs damn near perfect with the settings I have at the moment, but need more time on the engine before I do any runs up to redline.

Great!
You may choose smaller main jets. My bikes setup is exact the same, except JL pipes instead of jolly’s. I was ending up with 175/170 on around 500-700 m altitude. EGT was then always below 550 degrees on full throttle.

Thanks guys :smt023

Slowly putting miles on and working my up the RPM scale every 100km
Plugs look great so far, but time will tell as I work my way up to redline.
It is a bit cold blooded like my RZ350...but sitting a few extra minutes warming up is worth saving the engine each time.

Took it out for another shake down run.
This time I took a few rougher roads here and there to literally shake the bike up and see if it held together.
Also broke past the 100 mark so I started running it up to 7000.
On my way home, I did one last blast, powershifting through each gear to 7000....Bike felt better than I hoped.
But as I let off and started slowing down.....the bike was making way more noise than it had been.....
.....and there was no bottom end power of any kind.... :smt010

I came to a stop sign and felt each pipe outlet, and each one was still firing warm, but more oil than normal spitting out....checked to see if one of my baffles fell off or was loose.
All ok.....so I limped it home to the garage.

Left it run and every one of my pipes was way louder than before.....
I shut it down and pulled the plugs....all looked a perfect light brown.
Did a compression check and all cylinders were the same......
Then my brain started working again..... :smt017
I checked to see where my powervalves were positioned at.

They were full open....my powervalve actuator was not working and stopped full open....when I was powershifting I'm guessing.
Explaining why it was louder, using more oil, and explaining why I had no bottom end any more.

Extremely relieved, I screwed with the connectors for a while and got it working again.
Fired it up, bike sounded normal, took it for a quick spin and ran perfectly...
I am going to wire up my Zeel ignition earlier than planned now, and hopefully keep that issue from happening again.

Heat cycles is more important I have understood. Get it all broke in well. Mine never went thru more than a gear revved up. I would let it completely cool off after 1/2 hour of riding. Both have held up well.

Its great to see another one on the road. Glad the "issue" turned out to be something easily remedied. Simple fuel starvation on my inaugural run had me thinking the worst too. We need to keep those brains working, don't we? LOL

Thanks for sharing your story.

:smt023
Put another 1/2 hour on it this week, but weather has not been cooperating.....rain/snow/winds and just plain cold....
Doing the small things to it, that usually get put off to the end.
The next step is getting bodywork cleaned up and glued back together without being too noticeable....the bottom lower is pretty rough
Then going back over everything I can reach and make sure nothing has come loose, check floatbowls for rust particles, new plugs, and i still need license plates. :smt018

.........then see if I can find some ignition and powervalve curves to try with the Zeel.......only ones loaded on the box are factory curves, which is really no improvement.
