So the fuel level in the float bowl changes if the bike is on the sidestand?

The floats are attached to pivot posts on one side of the carb, so yes.
Just like if you lifted one side of your toilet, it would affect the float mounted lengthwise.

That is for sure the weirdest analogy I've ever read.

Well, I must say I'm a little disappointed.
Apparently the center pin floats are only on the larger body SC. My 28s have the conventional pivot, air cleaner side of carb. Small stuff, as the check valves preventing leak /overflow anywhere when tilted seem to work fine in the kitchen.

Don't bother with the side of the float pivot, it will only be relevant when the bike is on the sidestand.
When you're riding, the bike is never "leaned" ... except when you fall down.
Remember the centrifugal force !

Haha if anything centrifugal force would compound the "issue".
I've never had a bike with a center pin, but after this I can appreciate it is a better design, at least in theory, and more so for our sideways carbs - but as mentioned in my last post, it shouldn't be something to think about with these carbs.
Yes, I spent too much time looking at /thinking about floats with this bike.
Edit - perhaps having standard carb mounted backwards has contributed to the 3ma's reputation for seizing.
I've never had one so sure don't want to even call this a theory and don't know what has been blamed in past.
