Here is my Lucky Bike

#1 Post by Lucky Stroke » Mon Dec 28, 2009 5:17 pm

Hi. I am new here and in November 2005 I received my RD500

The engine was not in very good condition. After replacing the tires and the steering head bearings the bike was somewhat controllable. A thorough inspection made clear that much more was coming. So it was time for a full refurbishment.

Before starting I bought a alloy RZV frame. And if it is possible, I want him as RZV on registration. This is going to be difficult because in fact there is no European type approval.

My intention is to make a GP replica like if it was supplied by Yamaha. So no parts of other motor brands, but if it is necessary with parts from suppliers of exclusive parts.
So it will look clearly identifiable as RD500LC or RZV500R.
My choice fell on an implementation of Lucky Strike Team Roberts.

I am still building the bike and hope in spring I can go for a ride. Because the bike never will be ready, you always can improve it.

The last fairing parts are mounted. It gives a pretty good idea how it should be.
It all goes really seem like a GP replica.

Next step, improved expansions.
