Re: +7mm Crank OEM Cylinder Porting
Okay. Seriously... Has ANYONE ever actually built a +7mm OEM cylinder engine??? Yes I have!!!! If I remember right you end up with around 2mm (maybe a little more) positive piston to deck height as appose to 1.25mm for a +4mm stroke so nothing amazing there! Just be realistic with your power goals,...

Re: +7mm Crank OEM Cylinder Porting
@ Smoker Just keep it simple apart from whats been mentioned in this thread your guy should concentrate on the exhaust port to achieve the best blowdown of the cylinder can't stress that enough. As for the dowels and there fitment a nice interference fit in the barrels and a little looser in the hea...

Re: +7mm Crank OEM Cylinder Porting
Mark is correct in what he is saying! As you have CNC machined heads they SHOULD be machined to the correct spacing of 102mm, I use hollow dowels to locate heads. The head studs run through the hollow dowels, so you will have a counter bore in the cylinders and counter bores in the head to line up t...

Re: +7mm Crank OEM Cylinder Porting
I use a spacer and machine the bottom of the cylinder to achieve to port timing I like! It would be highly recommended to dowel/register the cylinder head as there is so much slop between clamp studs and head. Removable insert will be just awesome but they need to be in the correct position to the b...

Re: +7mm Crank OEM Cylinder Porting
Smoker there shouldn't be any secrets using OEM cylinders with a +7mm stroke, you will be looking to set the cylinder so the EX is at 196-198* and the transfers will sit around 130* nothing you can do about that. A spacer will be needed along with a dowelled head

Re: engmod, real life, detonation, MK?
If your seeing deto at that rpm I'd look at you static comp ratio the delivery ratio of the pipe. Like Kenny pointed out pv will change the dynamic comp ratio, your right on the point of max torque. I spent a huge amount of time testing before the PV opens and the shape of the exhaust port floor to ...
