Or you could use an R6 shock which already has the correct spring rate and corresponding damping. Reducing a shocks spring rate by 60 percent will likely leave it overdamped. The only extra work is cutting a quarter sized piece out of the upper shock mount to clear the adjuster, trimming the chain g...

Here's what I did, there's a matching plate on the other side. They are made of 1/8" stainless. I had to use a longer top bolt to accomodate the extra thickness. You finally got some adjustment out of your shock then Chris? It was you that asked about that last year wasn't it? http://img173.exs...

The original bolt is allen head, I think with a 6mm hex, but as I'm at work I can't check. A good blow to crack it loose should do the trick, try an impact wrench if that doesn't help.

I ask first if they are going to ship though the USPS, UPS or Fedex, than I make my decission to buy or not. No time wasting and no bullshit!!!! Ditto for me, but I learnt this one the hard way ($50 brokerage fee on a $40 part). It wasn't the sellers fault so I chalked it up to an expensive lesson....

A 120 is OK on the RZ wheel, but you don't want to go any wider. Not sure if it will fit in the LC arm though.

Tim,
I must have stopped reading when I got to 'Simon5', figuring I knew what you were saying  . I tend to assume anything from Canada is unknown to the rest of the world (usually the case unless it involves skates).

Julian,
They can't (or don't want to make the effort) to look it up by model code, but if you give me the full VIN they can look that up and give me the year of manufacture.

My '85 Canadian RZ is a 1AG prefix on the engine (also in the VIN) and my spare engine (an '83) is 33E. I'll call my dealer when they open and see if they can tell me. Presumably you are the Julian Farnam of A-N-D. That hub center steered RZ you built was a pretty slick piece of work.
