Was there a 2015 meet? I'd forgotten about it until today, never saw anything posted.

Re: Spec 2
I tried to have Gary at spec 2 do an engine for me a couple years ago, it was a frustrating, maddening experience. I literally flew from Atlanta to LA to get my engine back, then took it to Roger at Wicked ATV. He did great work at a fair price.

Re: Transmission Failures. ???
My US spec 1985 RZ had a mild 6th gear whine. After installing a magnetic drain plug and picking up some filings, decided to tear it down and found the gears were flaking lightly.
A Banshee six gear set ended the noise and gave it slightly longer legs in top gear, which is nice for highway riding.

Re: Do you run a centre stand?
The center stand is my preference, for ease of maintenance. Also the side stand did not clear my wicked pipes, so I took it off.
The weight of a center stand is not as issue, or I'd loose 20 pounds of fat from me if weight was a priority.

Re: Looking for pictures of destroyed RZ tranny gears.
6th seems to be a slightly weak gear, mine was whining, just replaced it with a banshee 6th gear set as they are still available. Install a drain plug that has a magnet, if you collect much debris that's the best indication something is on its way out.

Barber Vintage Festival this weekend - whose going?
The 9th annual Barber Vintage Festival is this Friday/Saturday/Sunday, October 11/12/13. This is a huge event, comparable to the AMA's Vintage event at Mid-Ohio. Anyone else going? I'll be there at least Friday and Saturday, if I'm not burnt out, Sunday too. I'll be on my 1985 yellow Kenny Roberts R...

Re: Modern/Current Motor Mods?
Your Tuono is the ultimate in rheostat like throttle response, it's the only bike I'd consider giving up my KTM 950 for. I used to have a 2003 model. An RZ has amazing throttle response, but a 2 stroke will not be like a 4 stroke bike with FI. The RZ is intoxicating, but different.

Re: Modern/Current Motor Mods?
Hellgate, I too, have done all 10 steps you've outlined per Rogers counsel. Very satisfied with the results. You did not mention if you are going with stock crank and rods or +4mm or more? I can recommend the +4mm stroke crank with 115 rods, big increase in mid range torque. If you have a chance to ...

Re: No Lights - 84 RZ
Squish, Since you are in Atlanta, you wont have any trouble finding an O'Rielly auto parts store. They have a replacement fuse block like the one seen in this thread, for maybe $5. It uses the "mini" sized spade type fuses, which make much better contact than the old glass tube fuses. Its ...

Re: 28PWK - round top vs. 2 screws?
Lots of PWK 28's for sale on ebay show the screw caps. I saw it on the internet - it must be true!!
I'd not considered they were showing a "generic" PWK picture that did not apply to the 28. Thanks for clearing that up, my choice is simple now.
