We actually had a couple of people in Germany and the Netherlands who I know personally and all reported increased performance.

Does it look like it would be a plug and play installation with the stock servo? Basically yes if you can read a wiring diagram - only thing is that the open and close position can be programmed and - logically - have to be adjusted before riding. (You adjust that by entering numbers. Different num...

Update from my side: Have mounted the box to my race RZ in combination with a valve-motor from the RGV250. A I did several track days with that setup. Bike is performing well and no probs with the PV controller, yet. Also used the box without probs on my road RZ for some 100 km of testriding to find...

I published the PPV curves in the German RD forum and one guy also had build a control unit for the Power Valves some months ago. Here are his curves and experiences. http://www.rd350lc.de/forum/viewtopic.php?p=57259#57259 Basically he's saying for a RZ350 (German 1WW, international it's the F2) the...

Errr ... did you read what I posted first? The PPV is a product from Borut Zemlijc; Info/Orders: www.zeeltronic.com I only had the honor of helping in developing and then testing his ignition and programmable power valve. If you refer to what's written in the German RD forum: In this case you need t...

Then you finally met one ... A friend of mine found out what BDK is modifying on the YPVS boxes and then I made a box for another friend (owner of www.soni-x.de) who dynoed a stock RD350 with different PV settings. Here's the link to the German RD forum (I have the same username there): http://www.r...

Had my first ride and I can confirm that the unit works well. From the first few trials I can say that in the RZ350 it makes sense to open somewhat earlier and faster than stock and to leave the last few % for the top rpm's. The top end was better in this case. Programmed curves (0% = closed, 100% =...

Programmable Power-Valve control box

Hi there, this is my first post here in the 350 forum, so first a quick introduction. My name is Martin Kieltsch and I'm the author of tuning manuals for the RZ350/RZ500. In 2005 I helped to develop programmable ignitions for the RZ350/RZ500 and these days I received Boruts PPV (= Programmable Power...

Nope - not Ron's stuff. I also tested it and you're right, there were issues to be sorted out. As far as I know he's still working on it because he focused on the aircooled RD CDI kit. One of the main differences between them is that Ron's box can run total / partial loss (without rotor/stator) with...

New Ignition for RZ350YPVS

Hi folks, recently I had the opportunity to test and help developing a new digital ignition specially designed for the Yamaha RZ350YPVS. The key features: - freely programmable curve via handheld - using stock stator/rotor to produce the spark; no mods neccessary - CDI has a Power-Valve output, so t...

The best manual is the Service Manual. I don't really know of another one. Well, than have a look at these: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=8017358988&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT As an alternative you can get them directly. Here's the sample & info page: http://ho...
