Head gasket
Head gasket leak and overheating.
Any hood sources for gasket?
It had an athena type and I have since discovered that they have a poor reputation.
OEM is back ordered for several months.

Euro Harleys
I wonder if Europeans producing Harley Davidson motorcycles will be able to make them idle smoothly and actually have a bit of performance and handling.
If they do they will call them BMW.

Re: 81 rd350lc Canadian rear mono-shock
Same bike as I had previously.
The shock just packed it in, feels like a pogo stick. It was getting tired previously, but possibly the unusually cold snap we had here put the final touches to an internal seal.
Thanks for looking into a Canadian source, I look forward to seeing what they have.

81 rd350lc Canadian rear mono-shock
Looking for a supplier for rear mono shick. Doesn’t seem to be much available at a reasonable price.
Mine is pretty well done.
And I’m not as light as I used to be.
Regrettably

Re: Lc exhaust flange
I used the rad shop in courtenay.
Jonw, the coathanger fix worked perfectly, I did up the game somewhat and used some brazing rod I had. Thanks for the tip.

I had them boiled out in a dip tank at a radiator shop to do exactly that.

The coat hanger fix will work just dandy and save a lot of messing around.

Re: Lc exhaust flange
One flange is flush and the other is 1/8” proud. So regardless of how much the nuts are torqued down on new crush gaskets there is play. So I think I will machine down the proud flange and try that
It kind of messed up the performance having one exhaust not operating properly, which make sense.

Lc exhaust flange
Can anyone confirm that the exhaust flange on the header pipe is flush with the header pipe to gasket mating surface? Hopefully I have explained that well enough. The reason I ask is that one pipe is flush and the other has the pipe recessed into the flange, making it tough to get a proper seal on t...

Re: Need more mid range power
Yes. The 6mm reed block spacers smooth out the power band. I also used Boysen 2 stage reeds, raised the exhaust port, mildly opened up the tranfer ports but didn't change the height or shape on the cylinder. Also installed UFO spacers in the carb slides and adjusted jetting to match. Wether it's my ...

Re: I tied up Elsie
Those tank decals are a real beast to apply. I was very patient doing it - and still messed them up.
Your elsie looks in really nice shape to start with. Looking forward to your project.

Re: Airtech 500 fairing help needed
Sometimes you just gotta wing it and get er done. Mine turned out fine, just spring clamp, adjust, point your toes and dive on in. Get the first screw in the front center and everything else is easy. I drilled slightly over size and used nylon washers on both sides to allow a little flex/wiggle room...
