Ive got black back plates for the Raasks on my RZ, but youre right not many use them.
I was just looking for the allen head size, not the actual bolt size, which I believe you are correct.
An 8mm allen head wrench fits exact.

Allen head size for rearsets?

Can anyone quickly help me out on this?
2nd question...I see lots of stock silver and/or polished rearsets. I'm thinking of going gloss black or black-chrome. Opinions?

Re: Exhaust: primer prior to paint?

Thanks for the replies.

I have them down to metal. First with a paint stripping wheel in my drill. Then 80 grit, 120 grit and last 220 grit sandpaper. That should leave enough "rough" for the paint to adhere to while not being being too rough. Yes?

Exhaust: primer prior to paint?

I've got my exhausts burned out (heat gun and torch, very surprisingly not much smoke and/or particulate matter came out of them), and sanded down to metal. Before I put on the PJ1 exhaust paint, do I need a primer? If so, suggestions? Obviously it would need to handle the heat or the paint on top w...

Re: Fuel resistant epoxy

I used to have a '72 Chevy blazer that had 33" tires and a 4 inch lift (not crazy tall, but you know, up a bit) some jackwagons decided to punch a 1" hole in the corner of the gas tank to steal gas (easy to fit a 5 gallon gas can under it). The tank was full so the rest of the gas went lea...

Re: What temperature do you put the bike away for the winter

I'm putting mine away next weekend. We might have some nice fall days, but once October hits, if I have free time my butt is in a treestand and not on a motorcycle seat. The pains of having more than one (several) hobbies that cost time and money.

Rory, you mention radials in stock size. What are your preferences and experiences? Very few options out there for us, but I'm leaning that direction.

Re: Jetting

What is your jetting now and what issues with it do you have? That's the starting point.
Go 40:1 on premix with quality oil. That's a good place to begin also.

Re: Gear Oil for Clutch.

I don't think in your situation the brand of oil is at all important. Any 75/90, 80/90 will do the trick. Don't stress.

Re: Gear Oil for Clutch.

I had some slipping and changed from 10/40 to Lucas oil 80/90. Made a solid improvement and finding neutral is easier than ever.

Re: question regarding RZ350 locks/keys

Should be one key. Your helmet lock is probably a replacement. There is a way to change the barrels out so they fit, but someone else would need to pass along that info.

Re: No longer an emergency, and now is AWESOME!!

I ride on the street and rarely break the local speed laws. A ticket plus increases to insurance just aren't worth it in my life anymore. I live where there are wonderful country roads and lots of twisties, so high rpms but lower gears is on the menu. Thanks for the advice. I'll probably leave thing...

Re: No longer an emergency, but now it won't start!

Alright, alright, alright! Tore carbs apart again, this time rather than soaking (pinesol/water) and spraying through the pilots (carb cleaner would go through every time). I took them out (shoulda in the first place) sprayed them (again, went right through) but then reading some other threads, grab...

Re: No longer an emergency, but now it won't start!

Wouldn't I be lean ruzty? Needing the choke on to run right would be making it rich, correct? Opening the airscrew will lean it out more? I'm at 3/4 turn out which seems about half of what most are using. Willing to try anything though, you guys have more experience than I do. I'll reclean the pilot...
