Re: 31k tank,new steel.
So here's what I've been able to find out with a bit detective work and bad google translating. I got a response from these guys back in May when asking about the tanks. My next 4 emails have gone by with no response. I tried in English as well as translated to Japanese. After some digging around, i...

Re: 31k tank,new steel.
Still making the CF tanks, but for a resto bike I'd rather have a steel tank as close to oem as possible.Smoker wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 8:31 pmSo, no carbon fiber tanks?wolfeman28 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 5:43 pm If they make one that is $423 I'll grab 2 of them for sure.

Re: 31k tank,new steel.
Definitely not what they quoted me in May of this year. If they make one that is $423 I'll grab 2 of them for sure. Edit- Sent them an email instead of going through facebook, I'm going to try and get an updated price and timeframe for when these will be done, as it seems they are behind on manufact...

I got a response from them a while back and with the conversion to USD it was right about $1200 at that time, FWIW.

Re: DIY Zinc Plating
When I was doing diy anodizing, I found out about the benefits of agitation. Even just a little bit solves a lot of issues. I'm sure it will solve your problem of the inside not getting plated as well. I just used a length of clear tubing with tiny holes drilled along it, and laid it on the bottom e...

My local library has a vinyl cutting plotter that works great for gaskets, much more satisfying making them on your own.

This forum is geared towards the liquid cooled 350's, just for future reference. Might check out the aircooledrdclub forums or the like for the air cooled 350's. Although someone may pop in and have the answer for you, I'm sure many here have experience with that model.

Re: Brass Ball(s)
I'm telling ya, you don't need to replace the bearing. You will not notice any adverse tuning or jetting problems by not replacing the ball. In fact, on some very similar mikuni carbs that ball isn't even there. They started using them to stop people from deviating from 'environmentally friendly sto...

Re: My Insurance has been cancelled!!!!
Yes go Hagerty. The car insurance is kinda meh if you have to file a claim, but my experience with bikes has been perfect. They go through other companies as the underwriters. Just be sure to give an honest valuation of the bike value, don't forget to get the extra coverage if you have after-market ...

Yes you can unplug all the cat stuff and let it dangle, bike won't know or care. Don't recall if the stand switch is open or closed

Re: Wiring Harness question - 85 RZ
Yep, sounds like you know what you are doing :) Most wiring harness will not fully follow a schematic as laid out. Essentially, they are exactly the same, but when you draw up schematics you normally don't follow the 'wiring flow'. The person meant to do the running of the wires can venture away fro...

Re: Brass Ball(s)
Mine came out by drilling a tiny pilot hole, then fitted an extractor with about a quarter turn and it pulled out instantly. Did it like that on 2 sets of carbs.
I also do not replace the balls. I have noticed no difference with them out, other than easier access to clean them.

Re: Carbon Fiber / Fiberglass Bodywork
That's it for now. Back to work and I also have a large military function I need to attend for the next 4 weeks out of town. On the weekends I'm going to try and get 4 more tanks built and put up for sale. I'm also going to get the rest of the molds done one of these days, I'm going to be spraying t...
