Is this Yamaha thermostat part number ( 82M-12411-00 ) a direct bolt up with no modifications on the 350's? Does it really make a difference?

He did make a batch, that's where I got mine. You could make your own by tracing the T-stat mounting face on the head and cutting it out of 4 or 5 mm aluminum plate. ThreeBond both sides and good to go.
