Klotz racing castor. Mixes with today's alcohol-laden fuel. Methanol and mineral oil don't mix. Plus it smells cool and the red lets you know its mixed. (I run premix).

I use Blue Marble with great results.
I love the smell of Blue Marble in the morning!

I used Klotz and Silkolene Comp 2 when I raced back in the early 90's. I still have 2 cases of Silkolene left over and plan to run that when I get the bike on the road in the spring. I will run whatever quality synthetic is readily available in my area when I run out of the Silkolene.

Redline racing oil @ 24:1 in my RD400F!! Talk about sweet running at higher speeds! The downside is it is 2X the cost of Amsoil. so that party didn't last long, but if you can afford it, it smells sort of like castrol, but burns much cleaner. I remember reading a post in 2SW by Supertune (AHRMA 2 time champ/machinist / mechanic), don't run castrol (premix) in a street bike, your engine will gradually lose power as the rings get glued to the piston (sticks to everything and the rings are soon welded to the piston and good luck cleaning that crap off, he sees something like that and shi*cans the whole thing.

Modern oils are well up to the task. I.e.: Motul, bel-ray, redline, etc. Amsoil I like in the RZ, PVs stay cleaner and the bike seems to run it w/ no problems.

I think you mean 'castor' not 'Castrol', no?
If you like that smell try Maxima 927, premix only.

Yes. Castor oil. Thanks for the clarification. And yes! I've run 927 in the 85 RZ (premix)....probably the closest you'll get to the ultra expensive Castrol A747, no? I still remember going to the races (as a spectator!! haha) at Laguna Seca in the 90s. TZ250's whizzing by and that smell. Or Rich Oliver at Sear's Point or whatever it is called now, just "frisbee-ing" through the back end of the track before the hairpin. Sears point was also the one time I saw a guy on a RD400F racebike drag a knee after the carousel...*ucking awesome baby.

I was a fan of Yamalube, Yamalube R, Belray MC3, but now I'm using Motul 2T.
My moto crossers all ran Belray MC1 at 55-60:1.

I've posted this before but here it is for the new guys.

All you have to do is pay attention to what the bike is telling you;
