Chamber silencers

#1 Post by 4cyl h2 » Mon Feb 13, 2017 4:30 pm

Anybody know the outside diameter of most of the aluminum style slip on bolt on silencers. Wanting to tuck the chambers in tight and have had clearance problems in the past

Are the ones like Toomey and Kenny use really that big? I made some from 2" o.d. Aluminum tubing and I like the look 2.25 might work better for noise?
I don't know and prob wouldn't look to big but I checked out some 2.5 and it just looked way to big
Compared to the pictures of the ones I'm seeing

Well you are provided exactly zero info. on what you are looking at so as far as we know you are looking at a piece of spaghetti attached to a cheerio....if that is the case then yes, 2.4" tubing will look large compared to the spaghetti and the cheerio.

If you are looking for approx. diameter of aftermarket silencers then 2.5" is a good approx. The cheepy Chinese ones are 2.4". I had some old school stubby alum and they are around the same as are the stock RS250 carbon/kevlar ones.

Tyga still sells new ones as do other retailers you could ask for sizing...

I have a pair from Nigel Kimber (NKRacing) and they a 2 3/8" OD, and are the same diameter as the flange on TSA pipes.
