My first set of DIY pipes was around 5.5 kg for the complete set, which was pretty exactly half of the 11 kg for the F2 OEM pipes I had before.
All scale values, so anything plus minus 0.5 kg is reasonable.

At that time a member of the German RD forum weighted his JL's and it was also close above 5 kg for 2 pipes incl flanges and cans. Regarding the fact it's different scales I dare say they had "the same" weight. Something that did not surprise me.

Thats about right.. give or take. There real close to what I initially stated they were. Scale & pics show the facts..which is the truth :smt003 ..lol.

Just pipes for godsakes..not a crankshaft or flyweel...?

I hate disrupting this thread on weight of the pipes and overall weight. An important factor is left out. You could have a light RZ, but what if the rider is no good. Then the heavier RZ a rider like Elbow marquez is riding it. Now what :smt005 :smt003

Too funny :smt023 Clinton Whitehouse used to kick the s*** out of everybody on RDs & RZs on his sorted RD400 sometimes even with stock pipes!, Its generally ( always ) the rider not the machine.
Likley most average RD-RZ enthusiasts here whom are 45-60 year olds, weight reduction practices is just a fun hobby or old habits. Its all good fun.

Marquez will be faster on a lighter bike.

The no good rider will also be faster on a lighter bike.

Stop being disruptive. :smt003
