I am in need of a crankshaft and 4 pistons. Any advice on the least expensive place to purchase? Lowest I've found for a crank is $400.....anything cheaper out there? Thanks.

Crusinimage is likely best pricing for pistons.

Why 4 Pistons? Is this for two engines or a 4 cylinder application?

Genuine Yamaha Banshee crankshafts are $411 from Boats.net. That's a great price........and it's OEM quality.

The same genuine Yamaha crank here(Australia) is $1350 Aust !!!

Yeah but he's in Wisconsin. That's the price you pay for not being shot at. :smt003

Yamasuki...you should be able to get one down there for an extra $100USD using the flat rate box system provided it weighs less that 20pnds. Really no reason to pay more than $650AU for one delivered from states. This is assuming no giant import tax?

I go to the Babbitt's parts fiche and get the part numbers and if there is a price along side it's
generally available.
Some of the stuff I've bought(fj1100/1200) is cheaper here than list prices in the USA?
But that crankshaft price is what I got quoted.
Our Yamaha parts guy(switched on guy) says that they generally fit HotRods cranks to Banshee's because they are
$900aust!! He apologises and doesn't understand why some prices are so exorbitant.
Nobody I know buys from anywhere else than the USA with cranks or rebuild parts from
the UK!

Thanks for the help guys. I've been busy, so I haven't been back to look at your responses. I got a crank from Tony Doukas racing for $300, and some wiseco pistons on Ebay. The reason I got four pistons is to build two engines. I've been going through engines like crazy and I cant seem to figure out whats going on. I've started a new thread about my problems, so I hope you guys take a look and help me figure this out. Thanks again.
