Erm.. Boysen Trap Door reeds? Really.. in this day and age ?
You've effectively reduced your reeds to less than half their operational area.
Believe it or not this actually helps sketchy engines, explaining in part why some find them 'useful', but Perf definitely is out the window.
Refit the oem steels ..Anything is better than those useless things.

That happened to me before John, and I also agree with this here too. Im starting to wonder if we all become bare in the endsilverstrom wrote:On this Bare and I agree. Surely that is some kind of record.Bare wrote:Erm.. Boysen Trap Door reeds? Really.. in this day and age ?

Do have the steel ones still but not sure of the age of metal fatigue related to the 4 of them. They appear all right but whats the point of putting them in and chancing a snap-off chewing up my new Vertex pistions etc. Locally, was advised to get the Boysens 3 yrs ago and made the purchase accordingly prior to joining this form. Ordering TDR #30 carbon reeds - I'll see if that makes any dif. That was Tony recommendation for stock LC.

My bike had Boysen reeds in it when I bought it,I put in V-force and I couldnt tell any difference other than a lighter wallet. Maybe on a dyno you can see the difference but I was expecting a big difference I could feel. My bike runs real nice and is basically stock with a toomey kit in it. Basically pipes,2 into 1 intake filter and the boysen reeds when I bought it.I wouldnt buy the boysen again but I dont think they are going to make your engine run like trash unless they have some sort of damage.
