Unisyc Carb balancer
As advised, purchased one of these pups. So Rory, what's the best procedure to get the unisyc to function for a proper reading ons za carbs? If anyone else has used one, pls chime in.

Re: Unisyc Carb balancer
I would start out with the choke carb.
-Start you bike with any air filtration off the bike.
-Put the round area over the carb intake and making sure that the round disk in the cone is directly in front of the opening. You want all of the air coming as easily as possible from the center of the cone.
-Adjust the circular disk until the red float is near the center of the glass vane. Some folks like it at the top but I treat it like a level.
-Move the Unisyn over to the other carb. Do not adjust the circular disk.
-Note where the red float is. You want to adjust the carb slide until the red float is at the same position as the first carb.
-Remove the Unisyn.
-Rev the engine a couple of times and let it go back to idle.
-Repeat the procedure. When the float is in the same position in the vane on both carbs, you are in sync. Just remember to not adjust the disk in the cone when you are moving between the two carbs.
That's how I've done it in the past on a car that had 2 carbs. I'm not sure why it wouldn't be the same on our bikes.

Re: Unisyc Carb balancer
Ive used a smiliar setup on cars as well, and in its basic form whatever the first carb measured at was what the next should match to.
I'd like to hear Rory's take on this with these units as he is the one who suggested them, c'mon Rory...! :)

Re: Unisyc Carb balancer
This is all good. Doing it twice is a great double check. When I'd done this in the past, 4 or 5 checks after set up and blipping throttle to be sure vacuum is the same. Makes a world of difference how the bike runs. Super smooth. Great reward!
Oh, I also check it at about 3000 rpm. A reset of the unison is required and a steady hand on the throttle.
I'm anal about it. Makes a world of difference, as to how the bike runs, in harmony. You'll see.

I bought mine from a VW sand buggy shop. Just google VW buggy carb balancer and you should find one. Just leaving for work so cant search it myself, but I saw more than a few places selling these.
