Oil pump shims?

#1 Post by evan_calgary » Fri Feb 09, 2018 12:40 pm

Oil pump has zero clearance per manual test procedure. What is the best way to shim it without having to order a huge multitude of sizes? Is there a shim parts list somewhere?

Thanks!

Any bearing house will sell you shims or thrust washers.

I know what you mean! Use a 6mm (bore) washer to over gap it. Subtract 10 thou from the measured big gap. Then subtract the difference from the thickness of the 6mm washer. This will give you the total shim thickness required.
I use a vast amount of thicknesses to get the correct gap.
