Hinson clutch and straight gear set

#1 Post by jimrd » Sun Apr 01, 2018 1:07 pm

has any one tried the Hinson Clutch kit

I was particular looking at the straight cut gear set with the there hinson basket

I am not using the oil pump ,, I am blanking off

Also have all ready install the two stroke crank shaft and TZ roller bearings .. with the groove cut out on center bearing

or should I make my own gear set......

or do you know where I can get just the straight gear set

thanks

Cannot speak to the straight cut gears. I run a full Hinson in my '84 RZ350 filled with Barnetts plates/springs. Aside from a manly pull at the lever it's invisible. Cannot tell the difference from OEM. And I guess that's as good an endorsement you could get.

The only thing I don't like about the Hinson set up is their choice to use springs.. if anything you want to make the clutch as light as you can.. My choice for the best straight cuts is Liberty Gears. Ed
