opinions wanted

#1 Post by coolhead » Wed Sep 19, 2018 7:41 pm

hi guys, i'm back. here's my set up. 73 RD350, i believe it has TZ gear set, TZ 250 crank, pro-flow 1988 #3 ported barrels, 050 over modded nos rz wisecos. Rz boots, reeds cages, rz fiber reeds w,1/2 stops. DG RD400 heads, stock base, no head gasket(o-ring).squish @1.2-1.5mm. coffman chambers (murieta Ca)110 oct 5oz 927per gal. rd400carbs 210 mains. chinoy CDI. its scary when you chop and snap @ 7000rpm. almost flipped it twice, once in first and again at 50mph in 2nd. seems like quite a little light switch i built. what do you guys rec for carbs that will fit and jets to go with them. opinions on the DG 400 combustion chamber shape and squish area. before i push this set up a bit harder, does anyone see foreseeable splodin problems. pipes in pic are modded DGS, not the coffmans.Image

Haven't seen one of those Cyl heads for while. Nice light looking bike. Interesting DIY 'LC' style Swinger
RZ reeds/boots etc are REALLY tricky to fit.. often requiring cyl / fin weldings to plug the holes created for the things.

You may have more luck on the 2 stroke forum. Almost everyone here deals in the liquid cooled world. Definitely interesting LC/TZ style rear shock. That brace bar sure looks light gauge from the picture but could be deceiving. Lots of the DG head wearing bikes on the AC forum. As Bare mentioned, the LC reeds are a much easier fit that the RZ ones!
