Hi.
I'm restoring an old Yamaha DT50R. I'm going to try the oil pump but it has not been in use for many, many years. It's moving but I don't know what's inside. I'd rather not dismantle it as I don't have a repair kit or anything. Is there some fancy solution I can fill it up with to check and flush the pump with? Kerosine? Regular oil? Or maybe some fancy oil cleaning solution for cars?
Best way to flush or clean oil pump?

Clean 2 stroke oil would be my choice. If the pump has the same type of castings as your f2 pump then the seals and gaskets are still available from Yamaha. I also offer a full refurb service on pumps of that type, if the above is the case.

Thanks. I'll run some clean oil to check if it's working.

Primed the pump and everything works. Good thing previous owner had blocked off the tubes properly and stored the bike in a dry place.
Only thing I need now to get it road legal again is two blinkers and maybe a front tire. :)
