Posting for a friend. Items need for a restore :

1976 - 1980 RD400 : head light, just light don’t need pod, tach, stock rear shocks, horn, chain guard.

1980 RD400 G : stock or aftermarket exhaust, seat.

Try the 2 Stroke World site for those needed parts. Lots of AC Yam twin owners there.

Is he just restoring the one bike, the "G"
Only some items are shared from the earlier year bikes, most are different.
Steep learning curve on the differences.

The G is essentially a Canadian Daytona in disguise . I can help you with head light , horn with bracket and chain guard . You should look for a repro seat foam and cover , way cheaper than a complete seat .

Exhaust are exchanging hands for a fortune , just look at eBay uk. Lately I saw a Can. Daytona with some RD350LC pipes .

I had a chat with the bike owner and he mentioned that he's got a list of differences he's built up over the years.
