This was my one attempt at a ECTA top speed event....
Wilmington Ohio April 2012.... rain and about 45 degrees...
terrible weekend, waited in lines for 12+ hours (two days) and made one run...
This was me at the start line when the rain came again...(about the 4th time that weekend) and was stuck out there for 1 1/2 hours just waiting for the OK to run.

Sorry, it's not a two stroke....but it fit the conversation

Looks like a crap day for a ride, you gotta tell us how fast you went, assuming they finally let you run.

That was the sad part....
Due to the fact I was a rookie....(first time with ECTA) I had to qualify for 125, 150, 175, then I could go as fast as I wanted.....
First run was 124.5....Qualified...but I can do that in 2nd gear down the road from my house on any day.... :smt012
And that was where it ended :smt022

Bullshit over-officialdom sucks..

Sure, if you want a sanctioned record for promotional purposes & all..

But a 'run what you brung' deal..
& you don't need all those hang-ups [ mechanical safety checks, sure].

Being treated like that encourages you do it on the street, ah, Autobahn..

The 22 is most likely considered the 1991 "M" model.

After some research, I figured out the way Suzuki distributed their RGV's throughout the world.
Each model RGV was sold in Japan one year before they were sold anywhere else.
I have an Australian RGV250 VJ21L which is 1990 (Blue and silver pictured earlier), But in the same year, the home market got the RGV250 VJ22L...a completely new model.
My SP version is a 1990 VJ22FL....F is the designation for Suzuki SP models...L for 1990.
Heres the SP waiting for the snow to melt enough so I can get to the road for it's first ride in well over 12 years...(as well as its first turn of the wheel in this country under it's own power...)

Still searching for a few OEM body pannels...

WOW! Very Nice and DIFFERENT collection! Good to see a custom paint RZ, love the colors. BTW, what rims are on it? I almost want a pair. :smt023

Custom Paint?

Looks pretty much like standar 31k colour design.
By the way very, very clean RZ there Busa,
Tommy or Factory Form Pipes?
Again very nice finish mate, and love the flow of the lines through your single seat 10 out of 10. :smt023

Thanks guys....RZ pic on first page, is the same one above, with a back to original repaint I did. Wheels are first generation Dymags, and pipes are Toomeys I bought not long after I got the bike back in 85. I twisted the crank not long after I put pipes and stage 3 carb kit on....(running redline for a few miles too long...)
Sent parts out to SPEC II, and by spring 86, I had a full on stage III port job/head work/overbore/welded crank/monster reed cages/32 Mikuni's/and......on and on....
Still runs as strong today as it did when I put it back together all those years ago.....At least when it ever gets above freezing long enough to ride it...
And planning some track days with my RS250 after 6 years away....
