my semi-finished 85' rz350

#1 Post by jord-rz » Sun Mar 22, 2015 11:13 am

this is my semi-finished project, it still need paint and unfortunately the powder coat is going to have to be redone. Here's a list of stuff done to it.
Engine:
head shaved and domes re-cut by slinger
porting by slinger
gp style exhaust by slinger
v-force 4
reed spacers
28mm pwk's
Zeeltronic
FZR 600 clutch friction plates
3 HD springs and 3 stock

Suspension & brakes:
R6 rear shock (soon to be re-sprung and re-valved)
Fork brace (1 off)
Progressive springs
racetech emulator
99' r1 front brakes
12' GSXR600 radial master front brake

I also have a Koso rx-2n gp style gauge
aftermarket indicators
See through clutch window
steering damper

I was meant to have a 99' r1 front end on it but found one of the tubes to be bent, a lot of this stuff found its way from my race bike.

It's not gonna be stock colors but maybe stock stripe scheme. I wanna use a pearl white and more metallic colors. The headlight is just a stock one from an 83' and some nice mounts I found on ebay. I know I have more headlight buckets if you're interested, I'll have to check the condition though.

Slingers pipes are really nice looking, however I'd go with stock configuration. There's no advantage to GP style other than looks or planning to fall to the left for a good old slide. I'd leave the paint stock. Just my $0.02. The bike looks great!

Thanks, Ya I just like the looks of the gp style much better, and I honestly think he makes the best looking pipes you can get. And I have lots of time to think about paint, won't be doing it for probably a year or so.

Where abouts in Mississauga are you? I grew up there, Dixie, QEW, Queensway, near John McBrides business. I worked for McBride Cycle way back.

I haven't been back since 2012. I'll let you know when I'm heading home. Maybe we can get together. I'd love to see your bike and chat up a beer.
