My 85 RZ350

#1 Post by Forzfed » Mon Oct 01, 2018 4:45 pm

I spent most of last summer cleaning up my 85 RZ or so I thought and then I ended up pulling everything apart and cleaning it up. I took the swing arm off and painted it because it had small little pits on the one side. Half the top fairing was painted, the mid fairing and bottom were repainted as well as the front fender. All the rest is stock paint. Here are some pictures.

Here is a motor shot. This is all original paint on the motor and head. The frame still has the original paint with the exception of the seat area that I touched up from where it had rubbed off a bit from the seat.

Here are some pictures of the bike all together. I decided to keep the factory yamaha mirrors off, I might put them on for some bike shows. I also have new foot rests that I tucked away, same with a brand new NOS windshield but the pictures here have the windshield on it.

I quite like the one-year cdn style 1985! Would like to find another someday.

It was my pleasure Nick. Great to see the bike finished. It looks amazing and the hard work you've put into it is obvious.

The 85 F1 (1AG) is growing on me and I think I'd take one over an F2 now. They are quite rare being a 1 year only bike and can be tricky to restore due to 1 year one issues, such as the handle bars, but as Nick shows us, they look brilliant when restored. Well done sir!

Thanks again, John! :smt023 :smt023 I learned a lot of differences from you on the bikes. I was hoping to ride the 85 for the last few weeks but the weather put a stop to that.
