Mugello GP

Whoa-Rossi qualified 7th. I wish he was sandbagging, but I'm afraid the mojo is really gone. I sure have enjoyed his career.

Its the qualifying sessions that are hurting him, unfortunately he is having problems with this " brand new for 2013 format" for a veteran like him its proving difficult to conquer. After Colin Edwards he is after all one of the oldest GP riders.

His pace isn't that far off, look at the entire top ten field, there less than a second apart from 1st to 10th...that's tight, The starting position is obviously SO CRITICAL!! The race distance pace is as well. Unless its wet, I wouldn't expect the Ducatis to challenge for anything
It might be a wet race tomorrow, so if that's the case..looking back from a week or so ago, you gotta go with Pedrosa, Rossi and Dovi and Crutchlow and you can include Lorenzo also.. SO WITH THOSE 5 RIDERS...THAT IS BASICLLY 1/2 OF THE ENTIRE MOTO GP GRID that's a shoe in for a challenge to win the race that's how competitive these bikes are.

Im going to pick for my podium ,In a dry race Pedrosa, Lorenzo Rossi and then Crutchlow, In a wet race Rossi, Pedrosa and Lorenzo or Crutchlow

The dark horse..is obviously Marquez..HE CRASHED AT 170 MPH!!! cracked a bone and impacted his jaw real hard, hes still going to race..If anyone can he will...If he does nail a podium, it might just be one of the greatest rides ever. I just wish him well and hope he doesn't pressure himself to ride over the limit any more than the crazy kid already does.

Well all see what happens in about 5 hours from now

yeah old RZ, epic for Marquez. if he survives the win it or bin it phase he's gonna be one of the greats. still think Valentino is being passed by in this new era of motogp. sure would love to see him get some results, but i don't know. would be interested to know what you think of Crutchlow!!

Your not wrong, the first time here in Aus we have had one broadcast at a reasonable hour, then Rossi ends up in the bags with Bautista. FFS. I just went back to my dinner, " as we had guests over", caught glimpses of the race after that. Did lorenzo just pull away, or did something happen, eg dicing between Markez and Pedrosa that let him drift away in front. I hope Rossi is not injured.

Rossi is always sandbagging. I to have enjoyed his career all of it since his Mito days, and I will continue to enjoy it, he is not done by a long shot.
Did you watch the qualifying, he was legitametly on song, with no lead in's. Its would have been an epic"er" race with him in the mix for sure. Markez is either mad or fearless or both, a great rider and truely awesome to watch. He;s just gotta be a bit more patient and as we all know the wins will come. The old bull conversation comes to mind.

It is too bad Rossi quit Yamaha when he did. His complaint at the time was that he was developing the motorcycle and his toughest competitor, Lorenzo, got to ride the bike he developed. At Yamaha he would have had at least one more championship. The other guys are just too fast now but in his prime, Rossi was as thrilling to watch as Marquez is now. Can anyone forget his pass of Stoner at Laguna?
