How 'bout this then..

#1 Post by J.A.W. » Mon Oct 14, 2013 5:50 pm

In the current A.M.C.N. mag, regular racing columnist Michael Scott reviews the
stupidity of the past decade of G.P. rules & reg's.

& concludes by recommending racing with the minimum B.S. R & R's.. 'run what you brung'.

He writes,

"It might even bring back proper racing 2-strokes. Just imagine how fast & how light a modern TZ 750 or over-size NSR 500 would be."

I understand that..

& Casey Stoner said he would make a comeback - if there was an open class G.P.2-stroke to ride..

& in another story 'bout Mike Hailwood winning 3 G.P. races in one day, in the same mag,

Scott writes,

'Many people who have experienced 2-stroke motorcycles , whether in racing ,
or on the road or in the bush, still harbour hopes the simple engine might make a return.
2-strokes are light, simple to make & maintain, & make excitingly snappish & plentiful
horsepower."

Unfortunately lawyers dictate most of how we operate in the world these days, perhaps this is part of the problem? I will have to catch up on news.

And what is this about? I'll have to go to another source and look for some answers.

Quote from: Yamaha Factory Racing Wilco Zeelenberg Team Manager
"Tomorrow of course is the race and it looks like we have different issues than just one fast lap, we are struggling to decide which tyre we are able to use and get approval to use."

Mandatory pit stop/bike change.. Team/rider can choose when, but must - by 1/2 race distance..

Dumb & dumberer.. Now its down to a 19 lap Moto 1 race,

but.. still with 1/2 race distance bike change..

Supposedly based on concerns that the rear tyre might fail catastrophically..
