Josh Herrin to Moto2?

#1 Post by Badass » Wed Oct 16, 2013 4:42 pm

Should AMA Superbike Champion Josh Herrin go to Moto2?
True, a good choice if you want to advance to Motogp but really who is watching Moto2?

And how do you rank Josh Herrin as a rider?

I have not really followed his career but maybe he should do a little more over here in the US before he runs off to the world scene? Maybe even spend a little time in WSBK to see how he adapts to major changes. Then again, if you got a shot at a good ride in Moto2 and not much else-I guess you take a chance and go for it.

What no interest in the current AMA Superbike Champion?

Any comments on Nick Hayden being a Motogp threat next year on the Aspar customer Honda?

Looks unanimous..

Backward step aint it? Wouldn't Moto 1 be more like it?

Not that going to G.P. worked out too good for C.E. or B.S. ..did it..[at least Ben picked up a win]..

I don't know if it is a backwards step but sure doesn't seem like a forward step either lol.

Yeah you are right, so maybe Moto2 is not such a bad idea I don't know. I am hoping to hear some other opinions.

Yeah noky, I agree the racing is good. It took me a while to warm up to it and I wish they were all running the same frame really. It doesn't make much sense to me financially to even make your own frames why would they do that? Isn't the point to recruit mtot1 talent, well then put them all on the same bikes frame and all. AMA sucks but it is free on www so I watch when I have time, mostly because they have a strong Yamaha program and I am in the US. I am also a big J. Hayes fan. I just wished Moto2 had a bit more character some how. I don't know but it is missing something, I guess I still like the old formats SB,SS and Super Stock or Formula Extreme. I want to see some production bikes racing, twins, triples, fours all in the same class ya know. Or even all fours, I don't care, I love Super Sport. It just gets to be to much to watch also ya know, gp1, gp2, gp3, wsbk, wss, w-super stock, ama-sbk,ama-ss,ama-dsb, holy crap! I really liked watching the production twins but it is not televised for me, Suzuki SV's, Ducati, Kawasaki Ninja650's.

Anyhow it will be nice to see what Herrin will do on a moto2 bike?

Why not, the riders are probably better and faster than all but the top 3-4 AMA racers. Herrin won the championship..but we all know that Josh Hayes is SO MUCH faster and better, the season was shortened ,races canceled..thats one of the reasons why Josh Herrin won. Hayes is like Mladin and Spies..easily able to finish 5-10 seconds or more ahead of everyone else.
But that's racing, according to the rules Herrin won the championship fair and square.
Id like to see the kid do what he can in MOTO2..but without a proper well funded team, I don't think he will be a factor some race series somewhere in the world has to have an American racing
HAPPY 30th YAMAHA YVPS 350 1983-2013. DONT OVER THINK IT , JUST BUILD IT AND BE JUST AS FAST AND RELIABLE

Well it will be interesting none the less. Let's hope he is always getting better and will do even better in Moto2 even though he is clearly the #2 rider in the US. I would rather have seen him in WSBK on an R1 than to go to Moto2 and then try to go to Moto1 were it all gets quite boring to me. But I guess there is no plan to race R1's for Yamaha next year, or is there, Broc Parks?
