Re: 2014 AMA superbike schedule..A JOKE
Been going downhill for many years, along with club racing. Back when we had as many as 6-700 AFM entries on any given date.

Do we even still have road racing in Canada? Haven't heard or seen any in years. Sad to see the state of racing in the US as well.

Oh come on, our national series is just as extensive as the US series these days. The CDN series is 5 rounds at 4 tracks all in Quebec and Ontario. Not a single race west of Ontario.jord-rz wrote:at least you don't live in Canada. the road racing scene is dead.

True, but the amount of money involved in the series compared to the AMA is nothing. Also in the past 5-10 years its been going straight downhill, you don't even need to qualify to race, there's pretty much no factory teams. Trust me, as someone who is trying to have a career in Canadian racing, Ive pretty much given up on that dream. Even the motorcross scene in both Canada and the states is going downhill. Factory team technicians in the AMA are barley taking home 30k a year.Hooligan wrote:Oh come on, our national series is just as extensive as the US series these days. Re: 2014 AMA superbike schedule..A JOKE
I was being facetious. I feel sorry for you if you are looking to make racing a career. Canada has long been a road racing backwater. The only saving grace was we are near the US and their series ..... which used to be one of the best domestic SBK series. With that gone, we have no decent options to ferment quality racers.jord-rz wrote:True, but the amount of money involved in the series compared to the AMA is nothing. How many CDNs have made it to the world stage in the last 30 years? I know of only three although I am sure there is a few more. Until we get serious about our road racing (which is not going to happen anytime soon) this is not going to change. It seems CDNs would rather sit around a drum circle, with our birkenstocks and hemp clothing and sing koombaya than build a racetrack.
