Argentina Gp -Spoiler Alert

#1 Post by solo 2 » Mon Apr 28, 2014 7:03 pm

I don't think there is any doubt about who rules the roost after this spectacular effort from Marquez, new record set. The kid has patience and doesn't seem to get flustered under pressure. Great race all around I thought, was hoping Rossi would place, went wide a bunch of times.

Rossi's bike isn't helping him much. You can watch the corner entry go away after 5 or 6 laps.

What record did Marquez set? If you're talking lap record well it is a new track you could set a record on a moped 'cause none exist.

Marquez is the first person to win the first three GP's from pole since Agostini back in the 60's(?). The kid is fricken GOOD! Maybe even better than Rossi was in his heyday.

Ago raced 2 or 3 separate classes on a race weekend. Try that now.

Ya, and you forgot to mention, back then they used to party the night before. Those days are long gone.

Skill testing question:

Who was the last person to win World Titles in different classes in the same season?

Yeah, it wasn't a very difficult question and aaron, you shouldn't need google to answer that one.

As Marquez has such an advantage at the moment, it would be fun to see him trying to win WSB at the same time as MotoGP. That has never been done and would require some serious checking of the race calender to see which events he must do.

Not sure his style would suit the superbikes. They are different beasts. Biaggi did very well in SBK but mediocre (at best) when riding in the premier class. Watching Melandri on the Aprilia this season is surprising. He just cannot seem to rode that thing for shit where he rode the wheels off the Yamaha. However yes it would be interesting to see.

Wonder if Rossi will straight up retire or move to SBK or Motard when he's done in GP.
