I have 5 BMW cars, 4 are manual, and I'm going to convert the auto to stick when I pull it off the road for work. It's currently my dd.

Where I live in Sydney, its madness to own a manual... the traffic is too mental. I actually do own a manual as well of course, but try to use it out of hours... :/

We have the mountains close by, plenty of twisties and mental rush hour traffic too. I should adjust that to too many bad drivers that get together for a daily drive.
Cars that handle and bikes belong on our roads, just watch the potholes.

When exchanging your Canadian driving licence you will only be able to drive automatic vehicles. To be able to drive manual vehicles, you will need to provide acceptable proof from the issuing authority or an approved driving school showing that a manual car test was passed."
This is a moot point as anyone going to the TT should be renting a bike. Traffic on the IOM is just silly TT week and there is no better way to experience the TT than by motorcycle.

Learnt that my hotel is book by all this year's race teams - repeat customers. Obviously a good hotel. Plan b for accomodation is sharing my place for one on the IMO for equal time share. Also heard its cheaper to buy a bike than rent it if over Britain/Europe and sell once leaving. Interesting option.

Studying the issue of Dublin vs. Liverpool. Both have relatively close access to airports but which is the more interesting bike ride to the ferry?

I haven't done the Dublin route but the Liverpool ferry is pure entertainment. 800 bikes on the ferry!

We rented a bike in London from Admo Tours.

I do have pics. I'll try and post one tonight.

They stack bikes in rows and then rope them together with a huge thick Manila rope. It's def old school but makes me think that's how they did it for decades.

The other effect of so many bikers is the ferry is only designed for so many cars and their passengers. So there aren't enough seats for all the leather clad bikers. Basically there are people stuffed everywhere and we ended up sitting up on deck with the unwashed hordes. It's tons of fun.

At the other end, people sit outside at Bushy's Pub just to watch the parade of bikes come off the ferry.

Everything about the TT week is over the top. It feels like Mecca for a biker.

Twice we have camped just outside of Union Mills. It is a well supplied campground with showers and hot food. It is also tons of fun cause you will be surrounded by bike enthusiasts from around the world. It is also quite close to Douglas where most of the off track action occurs.

Yep, that's exactly what it looks like. You can even see the ropes used to tie the bikes down.
