Silverstone LC Race

#1 Post by Hooligan » Fri Jun 26, 2015 4:08 pm

Anyone see this?

At MotoGP Silverstone round they are going to do a classic LC race.

http://m.crash.net/motogp/news/220402/1 ... -card.html

Apparently they have 24 250LC's and have rounded up a bunch of the original stars of the 1980's series to race.

My big question is where the hell did they find 24 LCs in the UK?

Someone has to go and video the event for the unfortunate.

LC250's arrived at Silverstone ready to be sorted for the race. Apparently work is being done by IDP Moto http://www.idpmoto.com who are located at Silverstone track.

This is the most exciting racing event in the last decade. I'm all a tingly waiting for it. Wish I could be there to see it.

There was something floating around a year or so ago with someone selling a warehouse full of LC's and bits that they had gathered for this exact purpose, must be connected to this. It must be on here somewhere.

always amazed when i see knobbly tires on a road bike. :smt011

the good thing about the new classic racing is they will be on new tech tires and should hold up better to the abuse. :smt038

I'm amazed at the 'dirty tricks' the racers did to each other in the straight aways - reach over and hit an opponents kill switch - seems dodgy. For 500 pounds win, in 1981, perhaps it makes sense. Suspect the 'tricks' won't be used this year.
