Should be awesome change for next year, quite early in the season still, for such a big change. They all seem hate Rossi & vice versa. IMO 50/50 he will win the championship again, Marquez was in talks as well, probably just carrer posturing. He probably had learned some new riding skills after his demolishion derby 2015 season, and should take less chances this season, & No one hates to lose more than Honda. Their machinery has always been the best, so they expect their riders to provide the final results. 2017s looking intresting with Ducatis ace team manager, and the bike is certainlly fast enough, just need the xtra 10%, Lorenzo should fit the bill. Ducati hasn't had a competitive machine since Stoners championship season, looks like their back.

Lorenzo not my cup o' tea, but he's certainlly one of the top 3-4 riders in the field. He's learned well , gotta give credit where credit is due. I'd think he's capable of winning on anything as long as he has a competitive machine underneath him. As with the other top riders, it's the rider not the machine that takes it that xtra level to the championship. I still think Pedrosa is right there, he just has awful luck, he's my Randy Mamola of the 2000s.

I think MM needs the best machinery to win as seen last year. He wasnt 100% happy with the bike. Stick him on anything but a honda and im not sure he would fare so well.

I also think Lorenzo on a Ducati will be a real challenge for the championship next year.

I think at this level of competition the best rider on the best equipment will dominate just because everything is so close, put the best rider on second rate equipment and he'll be a back marker soon enough, put a back marker on the best equipment and he's still probably not going to win a championship. I've seen this in many forms of racing, F1 to be sure, think Schumacher and Villeneuve.

I personally think Lorenzo is useless unless he's got clear road. Ducati couldn't win a race out of the pits without rule help.

Apparently Lorenzo is tired of winning and thought he would try the "Career Killer" Ducati. :O

At the time Rossi was by far the best rider in the world and we know what the Duc did to him.

a lot has changed since then and the current Duc has absolutly nothing to do with what Rossi had to drive. The current Duc might actualy be the best bike at the moment.

Stoner didnt do too bad on the Duc in his day.

Stoner won two and a second place in the last 5 GP's in 2010.
Rossi climbed on board and went nowhere.
I know who I think was the best rider of those two!

Ummm...I'm not the biggest Rossi fan out there but comparing Stoner to Rossi like that is a little disingenuous. Where's Stoner now? How many championships does Stoner have? Age difference? Rossi is the best GP rider ever by the numbers, to come close I think you have to go back to the 60s, Hailwood, Agostini.

Im not comparing them just stating that Stoner didnt seem to have too much trouble riding and quite often winning on a Duc.

Where's Stoner now? Comfortably retired doing the occasional test ride for some of the best motor cycle makers in the world. When hes not doing that hes travelling round the world fishing. Yep hes doing it hard.

Stoner was the only person who seemed to be able to make the Duc work for him. Several of the top riders on the planet have tried and failed miserably on the Duc.

Stoner clearly was VERY good but at the same age, Rossi was nearly unstoppable.

I think criticism of Rossi or any rider is fine as long as it makes some sense, rather than just partisan bitching.

Rossi certainly has had his moments and there have been several times when I think the dark side of him showed through the sunny exterior. He has made his share of dick moves in the past.
