What a utter magnificent ride by Marc Marquez, his team determined what he needed..Slicks on a drying track. He didnt care , with no fear he was instantlly 5-6 seconds a lap quicker..and thats where it all ended for all others, GAME OVER! He was passing bikes like they were standing still.

Rossi fucked up and apparently "ignored" what his pits told him to do and suffered for it & finished well back in the pack. There may be smoother riders, and more intelligent riders but NO rider is faster than Marquez and NO GP team is smarter than Honda in these alternate bike situations. Lorenzo, finished near the very back., he cant ride the Yamaha in the wet. Marc has just blasted out a huge points lead, At this point it doesnt look good for anyone other than him.

I'm clapping Marquez (and Honda) too.
But one slip up with a long recovery and the championship could be all over as well.

Miller impressed me, he came out on slicks into the Rosie bunch and competed with them for 5 laps, passing Rosie with 2 corners to go.

Two wet/dry races in a row. Strategy or dumb luck? Takes a lot of skill factor out of it and takes it down to raw talent and cojones.

You don't think there's skill needed to run in the rain? Different skills. That's why others usually shine in the rain.

Of course wet racing requires skill. The luck comes in when the track is drying. When do you come in for a bike change and do you go to slicks or intermediate? What if it starts raining again? It just makes it less interesting to me.

I actually find it more interesting as guys like Miller, Hernandez and Redding get the opportunity to show their stuff when the factory guys can't make as much use of their power advantage. I agree that getting the optimum tire strategy can be a crap shoot, but luck favours the brave.
