Back to the racing but weather played a role. It was wet at the start and the guessing began. Will it stay wet, get wetter or dry. Marquez started on a soft wet rear which he quickly used up as the track dried. He came in on lap 2 for his dry bike. Everyone else stayed out longer and that was pretty much the race. Marquez rolled out to a 20 second lead, Pedrosa is second, Vinales worked up to third and Rossi passed Crutchlow on the last lap for fourth. Not exactly a barn burner but the points are still close with 7 rounds to go.

Start on the pole, dead last on lap 3 and a 20 second lead by lap 6. Only on a rainy day.

That was either good strategy or having to best weather forecast. Hindsight is 20 20. Had Rossi come in on lap 3, he would probably have won by 10 seconds.

It was a good race. Dovizioso won, had a hard battle with Marquez. Pedrosa was third. Yamaha seem to be fading, got 5, 6 and Rossi in 7th. Looks like Honda have the electronics figured out.

Marquez was constantly on the edge. That last corner move was a wee bit over the top. I loved Dovi's WTF? hand wave.

What a season this has been! There wasn't as much passing at Silverstone but it was close to the end. Rossi led 17 laps but Dovizioso made a clean pass then Vinales got by too. Marquez bike blew up while he was in third and Dovizioso has a 9 point lead.

It would have been better for the championship had Rossi won. At one point the top 4 guys would have been within 12 points of each other.

Anyone watch the Moto3 race? What a dogfight that was. 4 laps from the end and the lead pack was 23 riders going 4-5 wide into corners.

Yea, those moto3 guys are warriors. Too bad they had to red flag it. The last lap would have been even more phenomenal.
