Magazine Articles

#1 Post by Off Road » Thu Jul 01, 2010 7:20 pm

I was in the garage looking for something :smt017 , when I found some magazines that I haven’t read for a while.
They’re from the early 80’s and all have write-ups on the new (at the time) RD/RZ 350. Ride impressions, 1/4 mile tests, dyno tests.

I’m going to scan them into my computer & was thinking of posting them here.
However, there may be Forum rules or copyright laws against doing that.
So, before I do anything stupid, I’m going to check with the forum administrators.
Hopefully, one picture is OK.

Cool - I remeber reading the article about this LC. The guy spun the cylinders around, built some pipes to suit. I think that his biggest issue was the tire hitting the carbs.

Nice find re-discovering some old mags from the glory days :smt002

I think I've got 3 or 4 of those issues packed away somewhere.

I would really like to read the test between RZ 350 vs NS 400 R.

I found something simular in youtube , but it seems that the RZ was tuned so should not been very fair for the NS.

I’ve been in touch with rztom and he doesn’t see any problem with posting the articles.

However, I’d like to post large, high-resolution pictures so that they are clear,
and he’d prefer that I post something smaller so that they don’t eat up the bandwidth and slow everyone down.
I sent him some really nice scans the other day, but they took 2 minutes to load.

I just scanned, cropped and exported some new examples for him to evaluate.
When he lets me know which size is best, I’ll scan & post away.

I will be scanning all the articles in the highest resolution I can (600 dpi), for my own files.
After they are posted, if anyone would like a copy, send me a PM with your email address.

I re-read that article. It’s very interesting.
I was surprised to see that the editors thought the best bike was the …
Na, I’ll let you read it for yourself. :smt003

Figured I'd post the articles in the order in which they were published.
Starting with The Biker from January 1983

I'm really interested to read it.

Thanks

Thank you offroad.
Highly appreciated and very intersting to read.
The test is as I expected.
NS 400 was a little....better bike (frame-wise) , but the RZ 350 was best money for value with very small diffrences........

I'd choose the RZ anyways...... :smt003
