Looking up your own parts is a way better idea than trusting someone else to do it. Plus with old bikes the parts manuals will often tell you what parts SHOULD be there. On old bikes parts are often missing or swapped out due to someone's "creativity". Once you have the part number a quick google search will also tell you if it is still being produced or possibly being used on a more current production bike.

I got lucky when I had my LC, my local dealer had an actual microfiche for the LC and knew how to use it. Made life so much easier.

I still dont understand why anyone would ask a 'cant be bothered much parts guy' to locate a part number when you know way more about your bike than he does and the part numbers are easily attained using the online parts books...

Purchased Athena set for $20 and have not leaked yet (fingers X'd). I had a single pit on the right side stanshion and repaired the pit with JD weld. Smoothed out the weld with 2000 grit wet/dry til imperceptible by my finger. Sanded perpendictual to the tube vertical/canted stance. Rolled the repair to 6 o'clock or facing the ground to put the minium pressure on the seal. Time will tell if this is a temp fix.
