Bought this bike in late September, stripped it down to the crankshaft and put it back together.
The info on this site was invaluable. Thanks to all.
If I offend the diehard restorers with the color scheme I apoligize, however my aim was to have a bike I wanted - this is it.

Not offensive at all John - stand up job. Hope to see you at Spunky's (Parksville) come Sept 2016 and compare notes. How long did it take to assemble?

I like the paint too. Just the pipes need to be glossy in my opinion.

I love the colors too with the graphics. I also agree with 2 smoke above that the only thing needed is glossy black exhaust pipes. You did a lot of work in a short period there. Bet it's a fun ride!

I agree, gloss black pipes would be better. It can still happen.
I had the pipes boiled out at a rad shop to clean them out and strip off the years of built up gunge, easier and quicker than doing it myself.
The original gas tank had a home done liner seal that i didn't trust, so I had the same shop burn out the liner, boil it, reseal and test it. I didn't want to do all the paint work and then have to deal with a leaky tank after all that work.
I'm looking for a center kick stand if anyone has sources.
I also have original mirrorrs and turnsignal lights that are up for grabs should anyone require.
Looking forward to some better weather to try it out.

Great bike, great job. The only nit picky comment I have is: paint the triangle below the RD350 black like the stock '81 is, so the paint flows better from the side panels up to the tail section.

+1 ^^^ ..you could try it with black tape to see if you like it before actually painting it.

Looks great! What is the paint colour? Reminiscent of '73 RD250 blue...
