Do, the ball bearing in the needle valve seat repair.
It's a Proven moto mechanic's 'trick'.
What size ball is used in this (mechanics trick)
thanks mark

One about the size of a BB works for me. It shouldn't necessarily fill the valve hole entirely.
Needs to be both big and small enough so that it's diameter, in contact with the worn/deformed (or it wouldn't be leaking) valve seat
will neatly reshape the seat into a nice tapered angle..when tapped upon .
Repeat if required.. after a blow thru test. There is a bit of trial and error the first time learning this.
Harder to say all this than actually do it.
It does help to have a few varied sizes of salvaged bearing balls on hand to select for an ideal (if even possible) fit.
Once mastered, this 'trick' can be repeated several times, or at least until the needle is toast.
G'luck.

Interested if anyone has purchased rubber tip viton 2.5 needle seated float needles for their carbs. Note that Banchee non power valved sell with a Viton tipped needles but sure if they will fit a RD350LC 2.5 float needle seat. All my research suggests you can only purchase steel needles for 4L0's - is this the only option? The needles are 13 mm long by 3mm. A BB appeared to wide when I dropped one in the bottom of the seat. Did find a part place that sells 3.37 mm chromed steal bearings for 19 cents each - cheap fix if the Viton needles don't pan out.

Phone sudco in california, tell them what you need, pay, wait, install.
Worked for me.

Phoned Sudco and they only had the steel needles only but suggested a Viton needle (needle off a YFS 200 YAMAHA blaster 2.8 seat) would fit in a stock RD 2.5 needle seat. Well, I then decided to to a proper leak down test (done with the carbs in the correct position) and discovered both my new needles seal just fine. While going though the test a couple of times, notice something odd. When the vacuum was let off the leak down test, the floats drop naturally down. The needle did also; the needle's spring loaded tip rested on the adjusting tab attached to the float armature. By accident, I turned the carb upsidedown in hand: the floats stuck at a 45 degree angle and needle stuck half way in the needle seat. What... Did it again - hung up again and probable cause for a flooding and constant seepage out the overflow tube(s). Pull apart the floats, fm the carb, and discovered there was a divot bored into the underside of the adjustment tab - probably caused by 30 yrs of rubbing against the top of the original float needle. It appears the new needle top did not match the errosion, snagging on the divot preventing needle closure. Located a used float (with a flat tab) and tested it - voila, smooth transition up n' down. Would have posted a pic of this but the thread is max'ed out for photos. Next test is to see it the flooding stops fm this simple swap.

these ARE simple machines...Yet they still give NO latitude for error.
Clearly: check Everything 3 x, if in Any doubt.

After clearing an air lock in my tanks fuel lines, was able to get her purring/burrabling between 1100-1200rpms. No adjusts needed. A simple hidden 35 yr old metal dimple was the issue - its gone; bike running!! Might still invest into a dual carb sync's. Until then, its all about the popsicle sticks. Break in time.Thx all who share advise. Done.

Yep good result. Took her out today, after purchasing insurance to start break in between 3000-4500 rpms. Mistakenly dropped a gear and entered 6000 rpm and hit the power band - felt great but did not want chance genading the engine. Bit of a tease actuallly while lumbering thru this period. Thinking I might have to purchase a set of ear plugs for the Microns - my ears were on the verge of ringing when it stopped (lol). Used chain wax for the 1st time - good stuff even though you have to wait 10-15 minutes for it to setup b4 driving. Cheers to each and everyone 4 the advise on this thread.

repack the microns? F'glass works 'fine' A small bag of the 1" thick rolled up variety from Home Depot is a healthy supply.
Microns are less noisy /annoying (to the rider) than the Leo Vince (looks like an Exp chamber but isn't one ) exhaust fitted to son's BWS scooter.

Microns repacked with fresh FMF 2 stroke batting. Getting use to the sound. Touche on the wax! Swimming silcone ear plugs will probably work.

Somethings amiss ? But then my FMF 'fill' was happily yanked out within a week.
My Microns are Not a problem for my ears.
Definitely loud and cause concern re attracting Officer Friendly.
But no ear ringing or other unpleasantness.
Whereas the son's BWS thing is V annoying.. I can't ride it without wearing good Howard Leight ear plugs

Balanced the carbs via popsicle sticks inserted into the carbs postioned perpendicular to the tank. Sat on the bike, turned the throttle and was able to observed them going up and down. Lock the cable stay nuts when cable adjustments had the sticks move in unison. Done.
