See Yambits website for small parts. Excellent resource and very reasonable shipping rates.

Ok so both plan "A" and "B" seemed to have paid off, I found a semi local rad shop that knew about bike tanks they looked at mine and said they could repair it (not cheaply mind you) so dropped it off and said do it. Then a contact I made earlier calls and said hey found one for you. "D'oh" well turns out will be paying close to three times to have mine repared than the one I bought and should have within a couple of days. Forgot to mention it came with a front fender both apparantly in great shape. So now I'm thinking get a pair of side covers and a tail and I can switch back and forth between marsbar and kenny roberts with nine bolts. Sorry for pic quality will post another as soon as it arrives.

LOL, what did I say about committment and coin - it happens to most of us. Twitter-pated. It appears your all in and congrats on the finds. Some would/will argue the white with blue over marsbar - all part of the adventure. I think your working towards the best of both fm a Canadian point of view.

Tank arrived today not as perfect as described to me but for being in original condition it was very close just a few scratches not only clean inside but oiled as well. Front fender not as well preserved but for being almost 35 years old must of come off a very low mile bike. Will start it up tomorrow and see motor condition, when I bought it we ran it for a minutes or so and it sounded good but smoked heavily and then fowled a plug before it was warmed up so told them to stop. Will look at carb settings and put in fresh plugs first of course. I downloaded a owners manual and in that it showed a few "Canada only" options one of which was use regualar fuel not priemium does any one know why?

Got some free time today so I ran some tests to see what the motor is like.
Compression test dry cold Left 121 lbs. Right 120 lbs.
Squish test Left 2.09 mm Right 2.28 mm

Installed new fuel tank after cleaning out a suspious amout of oil from the air box I think previous owner over oiled the filter and why it smoked so badly when I started it when I bought it. Started on fourth kick and smoked badly but cleaered reasonably quick. Right cylinder fouled plug in less than a minute I bought new plugs but couldn't install them because the connector on the new plugs wasn't removeable (first time I've seen this) so will buy some that will. Cleaned the fouled plug a few times but could not get the right to fire. I didn't run it very long on one cylinder so if the fresh plugs fail to remedy the fouling will see if there is anything up with the coil.

Found this online and had to impulse it

Congratulations on the new bike absuRD - and nice find on the extra parts. They go pretty quickly!

I see you're in Mississauga which means we're neighbours. I haven't seen too many Grom's buzzing around my neighbourhood - but there is a guy who sometimes parks his close to where I work - fun machine!

I'm an Elsie fan too. I have a couple of "projects" underway - an 81 and an 82. Both are now running but only the 81 is roadworthy. I just had it safetied this fall so will put it on the road next spring. My plan is to keep them "rough but operational" until I retire in about 20 years - then I'm going to rebuild them properly.

Will keep an eye out for you...
