I'm not an Rdlc guy so I'm not sure. Thought I'd put it out there. Wonder if a ypvs would go in that?

Thats funny, it has history,The cost is steep. You can buy a running Rz here for not much more than that if you're willing to wait with cash in hand. It does look like a pain in the ass.

My LC hybrid would be a way better deal at the same price. Mine actually has an entire frame AND a motor. ;)

Yes! Anyone looking for a hybrid should talk to Hooligan! I have seen the bike and it really would be a great deal and very unique for someone looking for an upgraded LC.

Glad to see the R1 LC is off the road. That bike looked dangerous.

Speaking of dangerous, I wonder what that 4-cyl RD700 the guys made in the UK would be like?

Well the 700 wouldnt have the R1's power, and I dont know what the R1 lump weighs, but its is low down in the frame of course. What worries me is that there was no extra bracing in the R1Pig's frame and they cut out the front spars for the motor. Even with the motor as a stressed member its still not going to contain anything like the power of an R1. I agree with Evan, it was dangerous, an oddity, but yeah, even for a bike it's 'dangerous'.

Added another 100 pounds, 100hp, and ripped the frame apart at what was already known to be a bad spot. The 4-cyl is still an increase in weight but without slicing the frame apart. It would still likely not be an awesome handling ride but a heck of a lot safer than that Rd1klc. Should not be allowed on the road. So ya, that is worth about $500cdn, maybe.

On closer look that thing is butchered. I can't believe it has paper. Saw the plates and my first thought was that it was viable. what a waste of time and parts. 200mm back tire?

Most of Canada doesn't require any review of the bike at all provided it came from the province. If it is old and not in their system it often doesn't even need that much. Bear in mind it depends on the province and at least in Alberta also on which registry you hit.

You can do whatever you please provided it has a legal VIN. Insurance in a crash may be different though.

Out here if there is no paper, and you want too plate your bike, It becomes a ''Ubuilt' project. It will require an inspection. no doubt.for sure.
if it has paper registration, a licence plate and icbc insurance bought recently, anything goes, do what ever you want
We use frame vin, so that is the number checked for insurance purposes.
Victoria does have lots of eccentric folk with too much ''old'' money. Keeps it exciting, you really have no idea the kine of stuff will pops up next in a this very small place. Motorcycle culture runs deep here.
