something strange in the garage.

hi all , my fork seals were leaking ,so i dropped the forks out and found these.

three instead of one .

and the other leg seal was a bastard to remove, i think it was glued it.
The PO had drilled down the side of the previous seal presumably to extract it.
you could see the half hole left in the leg.

fresh seals back in and forks reinstalled.
350LC,Athena 392 big bore,stock porting,swiss cheese air box,stock reeds,spec11 pipes.(now TSA big bore pipes)
She might not be pretty but she will always be a fun ride

Time to seriously consider a Fork Upgrade?
OEM lc forks were/are pitifull; bendy and ineffective being primarily cost cutting measures.
Even Aircoolers received 'better' forks
RZ ones fit like they were intended. Hardly great forks but a helluvalot better than LC ones.

I opened up a set of LC forks to find a stack of quarters on top of each spring. ;)

You are right and under close inspection i can see light scores on the forks where they go through the seals .
so will probably upgrade but would like to keep the LC wheels.

Mark, I have a beautiful set of LC forks complete w Racetech springs, new OEM seals and a fork brace I'd be happy to let go.

Aussie 20c pieces in my f1 forks, with holes drilled so the air assit still works... amused me when I found em LOL
