Glycol In Crank

#1 Post by 2cycle » Mon Nov 27, 2017 9:09 am

When removing the head on my lc I accidently spilled glycol in the cylinders. Do I somehow need to flush it out incase much got down in the crank ?

Yes. The cheap man's method would be to turn the cases up-side-down. Not recommended. How much fluid are we talking here? If it's just drops? Not so worried. Half a litre or cup, more so worried. I'd then split the cases and clean it out.
Many would say, just drain it and run it. I've seen way worse run through an engine. The good thing? The fluid does not harm the cases. The bad thing? It can do big damage to the bearings if you don't run it soon, this week.
