New Tyga exhausts

#1 Post by winner_evo » Mon Sep 11, 2017 12:45 pm

Just seen these crop up on ebay uk from jap4performance. Nice alternative, would be nice if Tyga started making a few more parts for the RZ & LC.

Nice looking pipes, great price. I wonder how well they work.

Cross overs - hmm. Note Jon that free shipping is involved on certain products. Where you able to take advantage? Love to hear what they sound like compared to Microns or JL's - vid pls!

It was said on the UK forums that the cross overs are there so that the pipe isnt too long. Thats a real concern with an LC as the short swinger means that long pipes look weird sticking out past the axle etc. I think like all pipes, they have their downsides...but with pipes it seems its always a compromise.

The free shipping seems mostly to be on Carbon and small stuff, but not to worry the cheapest postage option is only $50 to Aus, so very good value, but we are closer to Thailand than most forumers of course. :)

Ive not heard of any vids of these yet, but there are a few dyno graphs with them and other stuff thats either coming or out there now (Allspeed, TSA etc). Have a look at these two threads:

http://rdlccrazy.proboards.com/thread/41401/tyga-pipes" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://rdlccrazy.proboards.com/thread/4 ... lts?page=2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I should also say that while I like these (the price (and tax free as an import under the current regs), the finishing and the postage work well for me) the downside is that they wouldnt be for my next project or the one after, that means if i bought some Id just be storing them and thats silly. A mate of mine is building his LC soon and will need pipes, so these may well be what he wants and we might get to play with them on that build which would be interesting. Sadly no sense buying 2 sets as shipping isnt going to be cheaper and it puts the value into the taxable area, so i'll hold off...

That price is without mufflers.
They look like K2tec chambers to me.
A lot of LC guys want custom pipes to clear their custom swingarms and wheels though.

The new UK pipes with split can/expansion are sans mufflers as well, tyga offer 3 types and you add those in as you please, the alloy cans are only about US$50 each.

Pipes often look similar, but the dyno separates them, tho no one has dyno'd the K2 ones yet I think. In stainless the K2tec's are around this price I think, but Ive never seen any good photos of them for the quality of the welds etc... anyone?

Ive not had any issues with standard pipes clearing other swingers, there is usually quite a bit of leeway with the brackets and the body, but maybe the x over wont allow so much, so far no one anyone who has tried the production version as yet AFAIK.

Pipes are a purely person thing, based on what you want them to do as well as look like, coupled with cost. Everyones milage seems to vary. The main thing for us is that we have a choice, some bikes are stuck with just one sort. we should be happy.
