Throttle cable for RD350LC

#1 Post by AZRD350LCGUY » Thu Feb 22, 2018 7:48 pm

I am looking for a good used or new throttle cable for a 1982 RD350LC.
I have three aftermarket ones that are crap.
I would like a used one if it's good or a source for a new one.
Any help would be appreciated.

Sadly no source for new or used as Ive just been looking as well, what i did find out was that the new price on these just went up I was told by one of the Malaysian parts suppliers, thats why they now ask £80 when before they were 50 :/

Same as RZ350? I have a spare that looks excellent but sadly won't fit the TZR.

ive never tried an RZ one, the LC clips in under the airbox so has some parts designed for that... otherwise its much the same idea as the non-usa/japan version RZ, ie. 1 splits to 3 etc.

Maybe the LC2 cable might be the same but I think the F1 and F2 models use a different cable from the LC. Although it would prob work because the basic setup and operation is essentially the same.

Remember the F models have clip ons, so lower bars which mean shorter cables, youd be better with N or LC2 units.

Struth, those copy cables are complete garbage. What a waste. When I took my original theottle cable off my 85 the top portion had a 4L0 number on it. Ended up with the 29L OEM one and it worked on my clip ons but there is enough room for handle bars. Still have the bag with # on it somewhere.

Beware of a guy in the in netherlands falsely selling Oem nos on ebag. His banner says YAMAHA Oem. Got half my money back. He should paid me for pissing me off. Garbage..... so flimsy it was hard to clip it in and out of the slide clip.

Build one ? Bicycle shops routinely carry cablings which are of FAR superior quality to repro Moto stuff.. often even Oem parts.
Cheap, fairly easy to build.. once you learn to solder SS.
Even if your attempts fail yer only out 10$ .. max

I hardly think you can build as nice a throttle as the OEM, but YMMV of course.

This is the D-bag. Selling fakes as OEM parts Yamaha. Stay away.
