giuliari seat

#1 Post by 2smoke » Fri May 25, 2012 7:45 pm

Hi guys, i have the fever, i need one of these giuliari seats for my LC!
There are 2 on ebay UK right now.
Does the price sound reasonable on this one? If its brand new why are the signatures missing and why is it so shiny?

And there is also this one:

We will see where the bidding goes.
I have emailed both sellers to see if they will ship to Canada.
Any thoughts guys?

The first one looks to me like it has a genuine cover, the currently available repro covers are not as defined or as good quality as genuine ones. Not quite sure why it doesn't have the signature on the sides but these seats have been made with a few variations to the covers so they are not all exactly the same.

It does look like he's given it a good polish with a overly shiny product though, but the base looks mint enough for it to be new/little used and not an old recovered jobbie.

The second one will go for a fair bit more than £150 I reckon. :smt010

Yeah, those Valvie seats don't sell as well as the LC ones, probably half the price in some cases. The Z1 seats go for strong money too.

Heres an old Giuliari advert....

The seat in my first link is $590. of our little Canadian dollars. Plus shipping. So thats out. Sigh. I guess i will have to watch the second link auction and see how much it gets to.
The seat may have to wait till i get my LC on the road.

For that kind of money you could probably send your seat pan to Sargent and have a custom seat of the same shape but twice the quality/comfort. I did upholstery for 10 years, that seat could be duplicated...and will be :smt002 for a lot less money.

I would agree they are both genuine and the first one has some shiny stuff on it !!!
I have seen the aftermarket covers in the flesh and i don't like them, the embossed pattern isn't as deep as the originals and the "Yamaha" across the back always looks wonky.
If the factory started making them again they would be quids in
Does the company still exist ?
