Haven't heard from you in a while..was wondering if you were still about :smt002
Bike sounds great....
I had a similar problem on my RZ with the R1 gauges..and it ended up being the tach was pooched.. :smt012
Went from a 1999 R1 gauges to a 2000 R1 gauge and everything is great..

its an error...so the tach ...bounces and 5000k ....then goes to 0

i guess i could purchase another R1 tack....

then i have to finally install the speed sensor

i even hooked up the low oil injector light into the dash

signals work...high beam....

just the stupid tack :smt003

What signal are you connected to for the tach input.

The reason I asked is that I had a similiar problem on my first hookup. Tach would work up to about 7000, then drop to zero then pop back up.

I am using a Zeel and hooked to the tach output of the zeel. I emailed Borut and asked him what the output voltage swing was on that output and he said 270 volts.... oops way too high. I then hooked to the 12volt tach output of the zeel even though it said its output is 1 pulse per rev or half enough. When I ran it, the tach ran perfectly but at half speed. I had already purchased a Baker electronics tach corrector, set it to double the input and wired it inline with the tach wire along with 12v and ground. Now it works perfectly, and I am very happy with it.

I assisted Joken with his problem. He had a 1999 tach and it just refused to work. He replaced it with a 2001 tach and using a resistor voltage divider driven from the cdi output to the coil and it works great. He has the exact resistor values he chose by trial and error to get it to work. Next time I do one I plan to use this setup instead of a 50.00 tach corrector.
